Military Personnel from Meghri Unit Submit Resignation Requests
Earlier, we reported that the commanders of the Meghri and Mehrabner military units have had their official duties suspended. The Ministry of Defense of Armenia announced that an internal investigation has been initiated against them. The mayor of Meghri stated in an interview with a media outlet that the commanders were summoned to the ministry and instructed to secure votes in favor of Nikol Pashinyan. When they refused, such a decision was made.
According to Irakanum.am, the decision to suspend the official duties of Meghri military unit commander Aram Gevorgyan has caused dissatisfaction among the command staff. Most of the soldiers have reportedly submitted their resignation requests to the Ministry of Defense. A few others have written reports, requesting to be transferred to other units.
They have stated that Aram Gevorgyan's removal could create serious issues, especially given that the enemy is within the territory of Armenia and any moment could lead to provocative actions.
Auroranews is trying to verify the information with the Ministry of Defense.
