Mercedes and BMW Collide in Yerevan; BMW Crashes Into Traffic Light and Ends Up on Sidewalk

On June 8, a major traffic accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 22:10, vehicles of the Mercedes and BMW brands collided at the intersection of Komitas Avenue and Vagharchyan Street.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, one person sustained injuries and received first aid from emergency medical personnel at the scene before being transported to Armenia Medical Center.

Shamshyan reports that following the collision, the BMW veered off the roadway, struck a traffic light regulating the intersection, and ended up on the pedestrian sidewalk, crashing into the basalt steps of the “Fabio” retail store.

The police are investigating the identities of the drivers and the injured party. The drivers underwent sobriety tests and were found to be sober.
