Lavrov: Russia, Turkey, and Iran Also Interested in Opening Communication Routes Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced at the "Primakov Readings" international conference that Armenia and Azerbaijan need to learn to live as good neighbors, as reported by mk.ru. Lavrov advised that, instead of focusing on statements from Yerevan and Baku, efforts should be made to improve the lives of ordinary people.
Additionally, Lavrov emphasized that the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War should have ended much earlier than it did. Regarding the existing border conflicts between Armenia and Azerbaijan, he stated that they are unrelated to Nagorno-Karabakh.
The Russian Foreign Minister also noted that the opening of communication routes between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not only in the interest of those two states but also of Russia, Turkey, and Iran, whose opinions should also be taken into account in the negotiation process.
