Kocharian on Amulsar

Kocharian on Amulsar

“If the exploitation of Amulsar will cease the existence of Jermuk as a resort, it means that it should not be exploited,” stated the second President of Armenia and leader of the ‘Armenia’ alliance, Robert Kocharian, during a pre-election campaign in Jermuk on June 8, responding to the potential exploitation of the Amulsar mine.

“For me, it is still unclear why not all the documents are available. There is no certainty. Certainty and predictability of investment policy is lacking,” remarked Robert Kocharian.

“Yesterday we met with the residents of Kajaran. Most of them are mine workers. This is a tradition. Imagine if we close the mine there and turn the town into a resort. In other words, the opinion of the local residents must be taken into account. We cannot make abrupt decisions without considering the opinions of the people and traditions,” the second president added.
