Aronian Registers Draw in Third Round of Chess Tournament

In the third round of the Superbet Chess Classic classical chess tournament of the Grand Chess Tour, held in Bucharest, Romania, Levon Aronian played against American Fabiano Caruana with white pieces. The game ended in a draw after the 34th move.

The Armenian grandmaster recorded his third draw and currently holds 1.5 points. In the first two rounds, his opponents were Romanian Constantin Lupulescu and American Wesley So. The leaders of the tournament are Caruana and Romanian Bogdan-Daniel Deac, both with 2 points.

In the fourth round, Levon Aronian's opponent will be Dutch Anish Giri. The tournament will conclude on June 15.
