How Former Military Personnel Managed to Travel to Turkey Without Restrictions and Return as an Azerbaijani Agent

Today, the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia reported that sufficient factual data has been obtained during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated and under investigation within the Investigative Department of the NSS. This was achieved through investigative and other procedural actions, as well as comprehensive operational-intelligence measures undertaken by employees of the Counterintelligence Department.

The former military personnel, who has been awarded medals such as 'For Impeccable Service' and 'For Participation in Combat Operations,' along with another individual who is a citizen of the Republic of Armenia and with whom he has a friendly relationship, traveled to the Republic of Turkey under the pretext of looking for work. There, they came under the surveillance of Azerbaijani special services, who offered them recruitment in exchange for material benefits, to act against the territorial integrity and external security of the Republic of Armenia.

According to information obtained by Auroranews, military personnel serving in the Republic of Armenia must obtain permission from the Minister of Defense to travel to any country, and travel to Turkey requires special permission. There is also a time limitation for former military personnel depending on how many years ago they were discharged from service. It turns out that if a military personnel was recently discharged, they are subject to the same rules as active military personnel.

At this moment, Auroranews is trying to ascertain from the NSS how long ago the military personnel suspected of this crime was discharged from the Ministry of Defense and, if the necessary time period has not elapsed, how he managed to travel to Turkey without restrictions and return to the territory of the Republic of Armenia in the same manner.
