Video: "Don’t raise your voice, behave correctly" – Incident between the Head of State Revenue Committee and Journalist
The Head of the State Revenue Committee, Edward Hovhannisyan, announced today at the government that during the first five months of 2021, tax revenues amounted to 618.4 billion drams, while the amounts returned to taxpayers and individuals for various tax types reached 68.6 billion drams.
“These figures show a positive difference compared to both 2020 and 2019. The 618.4 billion collected revenues are 47.2 billion more than in 2019 and 34.8 billion drams more than in 2020,” he stated.
After the meeting, Hovhannisyan explained the growth by saying, “These figures resulted from the inflation of goods in the country and organized, consistent governance.”
When asked whether inflation ensures economic growth in Armenia, the head of the State Revenue Committee responded that he did not want to answer the journalist’s question as he believed that the individual was “not a journalist but rather engaged in political persecution.” The journalist called on the Head of the State Revenue Committee to behave with more correctness.
