Three Identified Bodies Taken Away; Soldiers' Remains Kept at Morgue
Soldiers' bodies and remains are being kept at the Martuni morgue. This was stated in an interview with NEWS.am by the pathologist-anatomist Artash Khachatryan from the Martuni morgue.
"All have been DNA tested, samples have been collected, and examinations have been conducted, they are being kept under refrigerated conditions," he noted. Artash Khachatryan did not wish to disclose the number of bodies.
"They have been brought in at different times, from the days of the war until now. They are being identified and handed over to the parents. For example, today, three identified bodies have already been taken away. Every day this number increases, and a very large number of identified corpses have been accounted for," he said.
Khachatryan mentioned that the latest remains and bodies were transferred from the Abovyan morgue.
It should be noted that disturbing photographs from the Abovyan branch of the Forensic Medical Science Practical Center have been circulating on the internet for several days. These images depict the bodies and remains of our fallen soldiers, placed in bags and discarded on the ground. The authenticity of these photographs has also been confirmed by the Ministry of Health, and the acting minister Anahit Avanesyan has apologized, admitting that, contrary to yesterday's claims, the remains were kept under improper conditions.
