Citizens Block Ejmiatsin-Artashat Road

Residents of the city of Ejmiatsin and nearby villages have blocked the Ejmiatsin-Artashat road, demanding a resolution to the irrigation water issue.

“Do you want me to tell you to go home, let the land dry out?” said a citizen who was blocking the road to the police officers demanding they reopen it. “You came 10 days ago and asked us to open it, why didn’t you provide water? 20 days ago, why didn’t you give us water? And now you tell us to go away, we’re not opening it. Soon you will go to your job, you will receive your salary, but my salary is this land, which has dried up,” the citizen added.
