Video: Citizen Stripped and Tortured in Arabkir Police Station; Investigation Launched

The Armenian Police have initiated an internal investigation into the case of a citizen who was tortured after being taken into custody at the Arabkir police station. This information is confirmed by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Armenian Police.

It is noteworthy that a video circulated on the internet allegedly showing the incident at the Arabkir station. According to various Telegram channels, the detained individual claimed that police officers apprehended him and, under the orders of Colonel Vahakn Armen, the head of the Arabkir division, handcuffed him.

This marks the second alarming incident at the same Arabkir station. Just yesterday, it was revealed that My Step Alliance MP Hayk Sargsyan visited the same police station and reportedly used foul language to demand the release of a “armed group” under his sponsorship, who had been apprehended by police with weapons and ammunition.

The head of the Arabkir police division is Colonel Vahakn, known to be close to Deputy Edouard Aghajanyan, who is linked to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
