Ministry of Health Addresses Concerns About Remains and Bodies in Morgues

In light of reports circulated in the media questioning the accurate number of remains and bodies stored in morgues, the Ministry of Health reiterates that there is no question of any new or 'hidden' bodies and remains.

“It is important to remind that, as in the past, relatives of the victims have been present in all morgues, and no issues have been recorded regarding the storage of bodies. The forensic center has done everything possible to implement identification work in the shortest possible time and has maintained constant communication with the parents and relatives of the victims,” said a statement released by the ministry.

Considering the specific incident recorded today at the Abovyan branch of the Forensic Medical Center, the department will conduct an official investigation to examine the issues related to ensuring proper conditions for the storage of bodies and remains,” the statement added.
