The Mayor of Nerk'in Karmiraghbyur Talks about Gunfire Reports in Tavush

Shortly afterward, videos circulated on the internet claiming that there was currently gunfire along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. According to reports, gunshots were heard in the area of Karmiraghbyur village.

“Nothing like this has happened; there is no sound of gunfire at all. I have been receiving calls since this morning. Everything is normal, stay calm,” Levon Arakelyan, the mayor of Nerk’in Karmiraghbyur, told Auroranews.

When asked if it was possible that neighboring communities were experiencing heightened tensions and had heard gunshots, he noted that, in that case, they would have certainly heard the sounds as well.
