Driver of UAZ Strikes 81-Year-Old Woman in Schoolyard, Fatal Incident

On May 25, a fatal traffic accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 12:50 PM, 37-year-old Davit Sargsyan, a resident of Chambarak, struck 81-year-old Galina Davidians with his UAZ-3909 vehicle while reversing in the yard of Chambarak's high school, as reported by shamshyan.com.

The driver did not flee the scene and assisted in transporting the victim to the 'Chambarak' medical center.

The investigative work at the scene was led by the senior investigator of the same unit, Harutyun Margaryan, who initiated a criminal case under the second part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia after receiving a call from the hospital indicating that the victim had died.

The criminal case has since been handed over to the Gegharkunik regional investigative department of Armenia's Investigative Committee.

According to sources, the driver works for 'Telecom Armenia' as a driver-electromechanic.
