Hamas Denies Threatening to Explode Plane in Belarus
The Palestinian Hamas movement has officially denied its involvement in the threats to explode a Ryanair airplane that recently made an emergency landing in Minsk. This was announced by Hamas spokesperson Fawzi Barhoum, as reported by Reuters.
It is noteworthy that the plane was carrying Roman Protasevich, the creator of the NEXTA Telegram channel, who, along with his girlfriend, has been detained.
“Hamas has nothing to do with that. We do not resort to methods that some other dubious parties might use. They are trying to demonize Hamas and obstruct the universal sympathy for the Palestinian people and their legitimate resistance,” Barhoum stated.
Additionally, it is worth recalling that on May 24, Belarus's Ministry of Transport and Communications announced that the perpetrators who threatened to blow up the Ryanair plane while in the air over Vilnius had demanded in a letter that the EU cease support for Israel's actions. The ministry confirmed that the letter was received from a Hamas fighter.
