Video: Parts of Conversation Between Ryanair Crew and Air Traffic Controller During Emergency Landing in Minsk Released
Belarusian television channels have released recordings of the conversations between the crew of the Ryanair plane that made an emergency landing in Minsk and the air traffic controller.
ONT has published the recording of the air traffic controller’s communication, in which they inform in English that the airport security services received an email about a bombing threat.
The second segment, presented by Belarus 1, reveals that the decision to land was made by the crew itself. “Where did the suggestion to land in Minsk come from? Was it from the airline, the departure airport, or the arrival airport?” the air traffic controller asks. “That was our suggestion,” the crew responds.
It is noteworthy that the Ryanair Boeing 737-800 plane, which was on a flight from Athens to Vilnius, made an emergency landing in Minsk on May 23. After the landing, one of the passengers, Roman Protasevich, a co-founder of the Belarusian opposition NEXTA Telegram channel, was arrested at the airport.
