Poland to Acquire Bayraktar TB2 Drones from Turkey

Poland will become the first NATO member country to purchase combat drones from Turkey. In total, Poland will acquire 24 Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), with the first batch expected to be delivered in 2022.

On May 24, Polish President Andrzej Duda made an official visit to Ankara. During Duda's visit, he is expected to sign an agreement regarding the purchase of the UAVs. It is worth noting that the day before, Poland's Minister of Defense Mariusz Błaszczak traveled to Turkey to conduct negotiations about the acquisition of combat drones. Błaszczak stated that the “Polish army will acquire proven weapons that have never been part of its arsenal before.”
