Jews Apologize to Armenian Servants Attacked

Approximately 200 Jews visited the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem and met with Father Tiran Hakobyan and Father Arbak Sarukhanyan, who were attacked by extremist Jewish youths days earlier. This information was reported by the Diaspora Department of the Public Relations and Information Center of the Prime Minister's Office of Armenia, hayernaysor.am.

“During the meeting, they apologized for the incident and expressed their support and solidarity with the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Armenian community,” the statement said.

The website also reported that measures to combat such incidents were discussed.

It is recalled that on May 18, a group of extremist Jewish youths attacked Father Arbak Sarukhanyan, a member of the Holy Jacob Monastery of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem, on the way to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Father Arbak sustained physical injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital.

The Patriarchate has formally lodged a complaint with the police, demanding a fair investigation to ensure that the perpetrators are punished by law to prevent similar incidents in the future.
