Huge Plane Tree Falls in Oshakan, Reducing VAZ 2106 and VAZ 2107 to Scrap Metal

On May 23, an extraordinary incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region due to strong winds and storms. In the evening, amidst tempestuous weather, an approximately 80-year-old plane tree was uprooted and fell on 1st street in Oshakan village. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, preliminary information indicates that fortunately, there were no casualties. However, the tree's fall resulted in parked VAZ 2106 and VAZ 2107 vehicles being reduced to scrap metal.

Today, May 24, under the leadership of Oshakan community head Aram Nersisyan, a special aerial ladder has been brought to the site. This ladder is being used to cut down and remove another plane tree nearby that poses a danger, using an electric saw. There are concerns that not only this tree but also several similar trees in the village could fall. The village administration is taking all necessary measures to remove trees that present a hazard.
