Earlier, We Saw Two People on Their Side and About Five to Six on the Other Side: Kut’s Leader on the Situation
As already reported, Azerbaijani military units have advanced 200-300 meters towards the Kut village in the Gegharkunik region and have established positions.
In an interview with ArmDaily.am, the administrative head of Kut, Sima Chitchyan, stated that there has been no change up to this point.
“There is no violation. Even their nearby posts are close to ours. They are above, and ours are a little below them. But we have not heard or noticed any violations or anything happening,” said Chitchyan.
He noted that the villagers are watching very carefully and are constantly observing the movements of the adversary outside. “We don’t even sit in the office; we are always outside looking at those posts,” said the administrative head.
When asked if they observe any movement or alarming activity from the adversary, Chitchyan replied, “We don’t hear gunfire, nor has there been any movement on our side to say they have become active. For instance, just a little while ago, we saw two people on their side, while we saw about 5-6 people on the other side, and there was no movement at the upper post at all. They are just going in and out of their tent that they shot at. You can’t tell how many people are standing everywhere, as they vary; sometimes there are five, sometimes ten, sometimes two. There were a lot during the early times, but we haven’t seen them. Our people said that they were numerous.”
Regarding whether there have been any attempts by Azerbaijanis to steal the village's animals, Chitchyan noted that if the situation does not change, there will be issues with grazing lands in the future.
“The cattle still haven’t reached grazing areas there; they are in the nearby areas. They haven’t reached that point yet, but when the grass runs out soon and they rise a bit higher, there will be problems if this issue is not resolved quickly. They will rise; they aren’t going to starve to death; they are animals, they will flee, they are used to our grazing lands. At that time, I don’t know what will happen or how it will be,” said Chitchyan.
