Major Car Accident in Yerevan

On May 20, a major car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 11:30 PM, a collision took place near the "Ideal" store at 44 Acharyan Street between a Toyota Camry driven by 27-year-old Davit Babasyan and a Lexus GX 470 driven by 33-year-old Edgar Gulyan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the Yerevan Fire Rescue Service's 11th firefighting unit responded swiftly to the scene with one combat squad. The rescuers disabled the Toyota, closed the gas cylinder valve, and secured the area.

The Yerevan 1-03 emergency medical dispatch team also arrived quickly and provided assistance to the Toyota driver, who sustained an injury to the head but refused to go to the hospital.

Garik Hakobyan, the responsible duty officer at the Yerevan Road Police Operational Management Center, reported the incident to the 6th platoon of the 1st police battalion, from where inspectors Tigran Gevorgyan and Vahagn Virabyan arrived on the scene.
