Armenia Rejects the Importation of the So-Called 'Disputed Territories' Fake Agenda: Naghdalyan

The application of force or the threat of its use to impose conditions is a gross violation of international law. Armenia will not yield to such pressures, stated Anna Naghdalyan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, in response to media questions regarding the border situation.

“Armenia also rejects the introduction of the so-called 'disputed territories' fake agenda, which could serve as a dangerous precedent for justifying the use of force in other regions as well. By failing to fulfill its obligations set forth in the trilateral statement of November 9, particularly regarding the repatriation of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held hostage, Azerbaijan has once again demonstrated its pattern of willfully violating international commitments,” emphasized Naghdalyan.

She added, “The processes of delimitation and later demarcation of borders between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan should be part of a comprehensive peace settlement process for the conflict, where the issues of the de-occupation of the territories of the Republic of Artsakh and the determination of its final legal status must be addressed primarily under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.”

Regarding the international response, the spokesperson noted that Armenia's international partners, genuinely interested in stability and security in the South Caucasus, have voiced their unequivocal position that Azerbaijan must unconditionally and immediately withdraw its forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia.
