7 Minutes of Continuous Targeted Fire: Details of the Incident Near Shosh Village
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident where Azerbaijani military personnel fired at a resident conducting engineering works near Shosh village, Artsakh Defense Army soldiers, on May 17, 2020, around 17:05. A group of Azerbaijani soldiers, motivated by national hatred, targeted a civilian operating a multifunctional excavator and the personnel at a combat position for approximately 7 minutes, using firearms with the intent to kill two or more individuals and intentionally destroy another’s property.
The attack resulted in the complete destruction of the front and left side window glasses of the excavator, causing significant property damage. Essentially, the intent to commit murder was thwarted only because the civilian worker and the conscript soldiers present at that moment were able to take cover.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been opened at the Ministry of Defense's Hadrut Police Department under the provisions of Article 34-104, parts 1, 7, and 13, as well as Article 185, part 4 of the RA Criminal Code, with the investigation being conducted by the 1st Garrison Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee.
