On May 19, political consultations were held in Moscow focused on cooperation between Armenia and Russia in multilateral platforms. The Armenian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Artak Apitonian, while the Russian side was represented by Deputy Foreign Ministers Sergey Vershinin and Alexander Grushko.
During the consultations, a detailed discussion took place on the cooperation between Armenia and Russia within the United Nations, the OSCE, and other international organizations, addressing issues of importance for both parties. The interlocutors exchanged views on several matters concerning regional security and stability.
In this context, Artak Apitonian emphasized the humanitarian issues arising from Azerbaijan's aggression against Artsakh in the autumn of 2020, particularly the release of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians held captive.
