Video: Shots Fired at 23-Year-Old on Nar-Dos Street in Yerevan

On May 13, 2021, at 19:35, a call was received at the Central Police Department of Armenia's police from the "Number 1 University Hospital" medical center, reporting that a 23-year-old resident of Yerevan was admitted with a gunshot wound to the neck.

This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

As a result of the measures taken, it was determined that on the same day, around 18:00, an individual suspected of committing the crime fired a weapon illegally held in his possession, intending to kill the 23-year-old individual on Nar-Dos Street in Yerevan. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, the crime was not completed.

A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative division of the Central and Norq-Marash administrative districts of Yerevan city under the provisions of Article 34-104 (attempted murder) and Article 235 (illegal acquisition, sale, storage, transportation, or carrying of weapons, military supplies, explosives, or explosive devices) of the RA Criminal Code.

A site inspection has been conducted, during which traces of blood, fragments of a car window, and a bullet have been discovered. Several individuals have been interrogated, and forensic medical and forensic ballistic examinations have been appointed.

Investigative and procedural actions are underway to clarify all circumstances of the incident and to identify the individual(s) suspected of committing the crime.

Notice: A suspect or accused individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedure established by the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Armenia by a court ruling that has entered into legal force.
