Soldier Found Hanged by Family Members in Garage, Investigative Committee Reports

A mandatory conscript soldier from the RA Ministry of Defense, Private R.B., left the military unit voluntarily on May 13, 2021, around 11:00 PM, and returned home. On May 14, 2021, around 6:40 AM, family members discovered R.B. in their garage hanging by the neck.

Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated on the same day by the 8th Garrison Investigation Department of the Military Investigative Main Department of the RA Investigative Committee under the characteristics of Part 1 of Article 110 of the RA Criminal Code (Inducing to Suicide). Investigative actions and necessary operational-intelligence measures are being undertaken to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The pre-investigation examination of the criminal case is ongoing.
