Operation 'Proshyan Shawarma': Suspects 'Talin' and 'Hamulik' Wanted for the Murder of 'Shengavit's Kshaj Ashot' Detained
On May 14, the Criminal Police of the Republic of Armenia, along with officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan City Police, conducted a special operation named 'Proshyan Shawarma' in the Kotayk region.
According to photo journalist Gagik Shamshyan, operational information was received indicating that suspects wanted in connection with the murder of 'Shengavit's Kshaj Ashot' were located in one of the areas of the Proshyan Soviet farm.
Police swiftly apprehended the two individuals—31-year-old Tigran Hakobyan known as 'Talin' and 22-year-old Hamlet Torosyan known as 'Hamulik'—who had recently been captured in the Proshyan Soviet farm area. They have since been transferred to the Yerevan police headquarters, from where they will appear before the Investigative Committee of Armenia's Yerevan investigative department.
As previously reported, officials from the Criminal Police of the Republic of Armenia collaborated with the Yerevan Crime Investigation Department to detain 25-year-old Kamo Khachatryan, a resident of Talin city, from a backyard of one of the buildings on Zakyan Street in Yerevan. Khachatryan had been on the run since June 2020, wanted under articles 104 and 235 of the Criminal Code of Armenia for his involvement in the murder of 'Shengavit's Kshaj Ashot'.
