Syunik Deputy Governor and Goris Deputy Mayor Discuss Events in Ishkhanasar
There are active reports on social media and in the press that battles are underway in the Syunik region, specifically towards Ishkhanasar.
News outlets have claimed that the enemy has initiated an attack and allegedly there are injuries on the Armenian side, which are being evacuated.
Syunik Deputy Governor Karo Avanesyan denied these circulating reports in a conversation with Infocom. The Deputy Governor clarified that border clarifications are occurring towards Lake Sev, with representatives from the Ministry of Defense of Armenia participating, while Syunik Governor Melikset Poghosyan is currently en route to Lake Sev. The information regarding attacks has been categorically labeled as false by the Deputy Governor.
Goris Deputy Mayor Menua Hovsepyan also responded to the news, stating, “Negotiations are ongoing, there are no battles. We haven't had soldiers there to engage in battles. The area has been free; with whom should we have fought? The enemy has even advanced beyond the GPS-marked border.”
The Goris Deputy Mayor noted that, according to his information, the negotiations are being conducted by the first army corps.
