New Revelation: State Suffered Damage of 5 Billion 500 Million Drams
The Criminal Police Department's Anti-Corruption and Economic Crimes Unit has received information resulting from operational and investigative measures, revealing that a man organized live poker gambling without state registration and special permits from February until May 4 of this year in one of the houses on K’eru Street in Yerevan.
Through a hired dealer, he accepted bets with game stones equivalent to 100, 200, 500, 1000, 5000, and 25000 drams. By charging a certain amount from each participant’s winnings, he reportedly generated about 200,000 drams in daily profits while failing to pay the state tax required for this activity. As a result, the state suffered a particularly large financial loss of approximately 5 billion 500 million drams.
Additionally, a substance resembling marijuana was found. Expert examinations have been appointed, and a criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident.
