Video: Gunshots and Explosion at a Kazan School, Casualties Reported, Teen Arrested

Gunshots were heard at one of the schools in Kazan, followed by an explosion. The information was reported by RIA Novosti, citing its sources from Tatarstan's law enforcement agencies.

"Gunshots were heard around the Faizi school, we are investigating," said the agency's interlocutor. Tatarstan's Prosecutor's Office announced that Chief Prosecutor Ildus Nafikov has gone to the scene.

"The circumstances of the incident are being clarified," a spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office told reporters. Reports indicate that the shooter is a teenager who has already been arrested.

RIA Novosti reports that there are 9 fatalities and 12 injured, four of whom are in intensive care. Among the deceased, 8 are students and one is a teacher. According to some sources, the arrested individual is 19-year-old Ilnaz Galiaviev.

Footage suggests that children jumped out of the school's windows to escape.
