We have told the farmer: we will return 50 percent of your expenses. Pashinyan

We have implemented significant substantive changes in the agricultural sector. This was stated by acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a special session of the National Assembly.

“For the first time in the history of Armenia, we have told the farmer: build intelligent barns with these development programs, and we will return 50 percent of your expenses. We are introducing a development program for farmers in border villages that provides between 25-70 percent support, and when the farmer enters this development logic, we return up to 70 percent of their expenses. So far, we have returned more than 580 million of their expenses to farmers. This is absolutely a small amount, but as a starting point, it is a fairly good starting point,” said Pashinyan.

He added that one of the most sensational news expected soon is that in June-July 2021, the level of Lake Sevan will be the highest it has been in the last 60 years, which is a result of a completely new quality of water resource management.

“In recent years, for example, in 2020, 22.8 million cubic meters of water were released less into the system, but 4800 hectares of land were irrigated more. No one has become a millionaire by releasing water from Sevan, because if you talk to representatives of the energy system, they will tell you there’s a circulating speculation that 1 cm of water from Sevan costs 1 million drams, because when it is released into the system and becomes electric energy, all further actions take place due to that,” the acting Prime Minister stated.
