We Have Been Collaborating with Marukyan for 20 Years. We Are Still Working Together Now. Arman Tatoyan
During and after the war, the intervention of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia regarding almost all issues related to the return of captives and borders was unprecedented. Such experience is often lacking in other countries as well. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan.
“The facts of gross violations of human rights and atrocities committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces have not received proper evaluation from the international civilized community. Unfortunately, the principle of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that ‘no one should be left behind and no rights should be ignored’ has not translated into a principle protecting real people, as political reasons have dominated over the protection of human rights,” he noted.
“We discussed these important issues, the difficulties of working during COVID-19, and current challenges with Edmon Marukyan. I have been collaborating with Mr. Marukyan for 20 years in the field of human rights in places of detention and courts. We are still working together now on parliamentary and human rights diplomacy matters,” Tatoyan added.
