VIDEO: There Was Fire During Kocharyan's Rule, October 27 Happened; We Are Still Choking in Smoke - Sasun Mikayelyan
During Robert Kocharyan's rule, fires broke out in Armenia, and the October 27 tragedy occurred, taking lives. Our people are still choking from the smoke of that fire. I have endured great hardships in prisons during his time; he should remember what he did to our Armenian people. This statement was made by Sasun Mikayelyan in parliament while discussing Robert Kocharyan.
According to Mikayelyan, since Vazgen Sargsyan, up until the current government, we have been unprepared for war. He made this remark during a conversation with journalists in parliament.
Mikayelyan stated that during that time, they could have used their embezzled funds to build a tunnel from Hadrut to Shushi.
He clarified that he did not say that either Nikol Pashinyan or he himself is to blame, but we cannot attribute the failures of those years to the current authorities. “If all previous presidents understood that the issue could not be resolved through negotiations, they should have found some way, or we should have prepared for war. Azerbaijan prepared for war. I have always said that war is inevitable. We should have been ready to respond,” he emphasized.
He also mentioned that Nikol Pashinyan did not collapse the negotiation process; it is important to consider what happened in previous years.
