Spanish Prime Minister Announces 70% Vaccination Rate in 100 Days
In Spain, it is expected that 70% of the population will be vaccinated against the new type of coronavirus in 100 days. This announcement was made by Pedro Sánchez, the Prime Minister of Spain, on May 10, according to TASS.
“We are 100 days away from achieving collective immunity against the coronavirus. Today, we are in a new phase of the pandemic. Thanks to vaccinations, we will start to overcome this catastrophe, which has been the worst in human history in the last 100 years,” stated the Spanish Prime Minister.
Vaccination efforts in Spain began on December 27, 2020. A total of 3.5 million people have contracted the virus in the country, with approximately 78,800 fatalities reported.
