Sergey Lavrov Heads to Baku, While Aliyev is in Nakhichevan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will visit Baku on May 10, during which he will discuss bilateral and regional issues with the Azerbaijani leadership. According to Armenpress, citing Azerbaijani media, Lavrov's visit is set to last from May 10 to 11.

On the day of Lavrov's visit to Baku, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will be in Nakhichevan, where he is participating in the inauguration ceremony of a military airfield.

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, announced that during Lavrov’s visit, a wide range of issues concerning bilateral and regional cooperation, as well as interactions in the international arena, are planned to be discussed in detail.

This will be Lavrov's first visit to Azerbaijan since November 2020, just after the war. Prior to this, Lavrov was in Yerevan on May 5-6.
