No Criminal Case Will Be Initiated Regarding Haik Sargsyan’s Income Source Concealed by 'Bottle Holder': SIS Rejects
The initiation of a criminal case regarding the concealment of income sources by Haik Sargsyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction, by the 'Bottle Holder' has been rejected.
As previously reported, the 'Anti-Corruption Commission' noted that the substantial changes in the deputy's income declared in 2018 were not substantiated by legal sources of income. This means that prior to holding office, he had other income, while the increase afterward was unjustified, raising suspicions and prompting a report to the Prosecutor's Office.
The Office of the Prosecutor General forwarded the presented materials to the Special Investigative Service of Armenia for preparation of materials in accordance with Articles 180-181 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, where, based on the prepared materials, the initiation of a criminal case was ultimately rejected.
In response to a question from 'Factinfo,' the SIS stated that a decision was made by the investigator to reject the initiation of a criminal case due to the absence of a criminal offense.
