Citizens Attempted to Be Misled: Armenian Embassy in Russia Issues Warning

Some individuals or groups are attempting to mislead the citizens of the Republic of Armenia by offering so-called "intermediary services." The Armenian Embassy in Russia warns that one should not trust intermediaries regarding consular services.

“To avoid becoming victims of fraud, we ask citizens not to trust those who try to act as 'intermediaries.' It should be noted that all collected information and information received from citizens is provided by the diplomatic mission to the relevant authorities,” the embassy stated in a message shared on its official Facebook page.

The Armenian diplomatic representation in Russia reminds that consular services for Armenian citizens in the territory of the Russian Federation are provided exclusively at the consular division of the Embassy in Moscow, the Consulate General in St. Petersburg, the Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don, the consular division of the embassy in Novosibirsk, and at consular points in Sochi. Additionally, mobile consular receptions for Armenian citizens are organized in other regions of the Russian Federation, about which citizens are informed in advance on the embassy's official pages and website on social networks.

It is also emphasized that the rates for state duties for consular services are set by the Government of Armenia and published on the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website (mfa.am), the website of the Armenian Embassy in Russia (russia.mfa.am), as well as on the website of the consular division in Moscow (armconsul.ru). The fees for services are final and do not imply any additional charges for the service.

The Armenian diplomatic representation also urges all citizens who have information related to "intermediaries" or have faced cases of abuse of consular fees to contact the embassy immediately.
