Azerbaijan Continues to Fabricate Criminal Cases Against Captured Armenians

Azerbaijan not only fails to fulfill the provisions of the tripartite statement regarding the unconditional return of prisoners but also audaciously attempts to portray them as 'mercenaries' and initiates fabricated criminal cases against them. According to Turan, Azerbaijan's Chief Prosecutor Kamran Aliyev informed reporters about the latest cases.

The cases in question involve Lebanese citizens of Armenian descent, whom Azerbaijan is trying to present as 'mercenaries,' despite the fact that they are well-aware of the truth. One criminal case against a Lebanese citizen has already been submitted to the military court in Baku. 'The criminal cases against other terrorists are nearing completion,' Aliyev stated.

One of these individuals is Lebanese citizen Euljekjian (born in 1979). He has been charged under Azerbaijan’s Penal Code article 114.3 (participation of a mercenary in armed clashes or military operations), and other articles including 214.2.1 (terrorism committed by a group of individuals through conspiracy), 318.2 (illegal crossing of the state border of Azerbaijan), among others.
