Victory is awarded to those who know the true price of peace: Serzh Sargsyan

The third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, issued a message on the occasion of Victory and Peace Day.

The message states: "Only the brave and liberty-loving peoples are able to impose peace through victory upon warlike and savage tribes. Regarding Victory and Peace Day, I stated years ago and I am equally convinced today that one thing was clear on May 9, 1992, and it is clear today: we will not sacrifice our lives, our freedom, our rights, and our dignity, and we are not going to sacrifice them.

Victory is awarded to those who know the true price of peace. Let us honor the memory of our heroes who preferred living in the struggle against foreign oppression over a life under it and fought for victories in that struggle, and let us also pay tribute to our contemporary heroes who stand firm in the defense of the homeland and the preservation of national values.

I congratulate us all on the occasion of Victory and Peace Day."
