New Details Emerge: Young Man Killed in Ejmiatsin Was Not Alone

It turns out that another man was in the car with the young man killed in Ejmiatsin yesterday. The perpetrator fired multiple random shots at the vehicle and then fled the scene. The second young man was hospitalized with injuries. The Investigative Committee has provided new details about the incident.

The Investigative Committee's statement is as follows: “On May 4, 2021, at 22:35, the Vagharshapat division of the RA police received a report from a medical center that a young man born in 1992 had been conveyed to them in a lifeless state due to a gunshot wound. Shortly afterwards, a second report was received about another young man born in 2000 who had been admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of 'soft tissue contusion of the chest.'

As a result of the conducted measures, it was established that on May 4, 2021, around 22:30, the suspected perpetrator, in a manner dangerous to many lives, fired numerous random shots from an illegally held firearm at the two young men in a 'Hyundai Elantra' vehicle with the intention to kill them, and then fled the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Vagharshapat investigative department of the Armavir regional investigative directorate of the RA Investigative Committee. A forensic medical examination of the body has been appointed. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.”
