Adam Schiff Calls on the U.S. to Hold Baku Accountable for the Murder of Armenian Prisoners

U.S. Congressman Adam Schiff made a post on his Facebook page addressing the gross human rights violations against Armenian prisoners by Azerbaijan. He stated, “As we work towards the prompt release of the remaining prisoners of war, the U.S. must hold Azerbaijan and all those who have committed these crimes accountable and end the policy that has allowed U.S. military aid to reach Baku's regime. We cannot sit idly by while crimes are being committed against the people of Armenia and Artsakh.

Reports regarding the murders of 19 Armenian prisoners of war, including civilians, once again highlight Azerbaijan's disregard for human rights and international law. My heart breaks for these 19 men, women, their loved ones, and the entire Armenian community. I will always stand by them as we demand peace and independence for Artsakh. Always,” wrote Congressman Adam Schiff.
