Trade Sector Representatives in Armenia Face Challenges

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that trade sector representatives in Armenia are facing challenges due to new generation cash register machines (HDMs). For some time now, complaints have been received from traders, particularly from the employees of the "Anush" gold market in Malatia.

According to them, the battery life of the new generation HDMs does not last long, and they turn off several times during the day. "I press it twice, and it turns off. I can’t keep up; it’s always connected to the socket, as if we were supposed to work wirelessly. I don’t know who to turn to. If a tax official comes at that moment, they won’t believe that the device has turned off; they will fine me and leave without caring," the traders expressed their dissatisfaction in an interview with the newspaper.

It should be noted that the Tax Authority has washed its hands of the issue. After liberalizing the market, the Tax Authority no longer takes responsibility for the technical issues of the HDMs, their software, the sale and maintenance of the machines. Previously, the process of introducing HDMs was carried out by the "Office for the Introduction of Control-Cash Register Machines," which was part of the Tax Authority, ensuring that HDM devices complied with Armenian legislation.
