Video: Neurosis Clinic Building Up for Auction at 163 Million 576 Thousand Drams

The "Neurosis Clinic" hospital, with its 50 beds, has been almost perpetually occupied. People have come in for free treatment and left. The center not only serves citizens but has also significantly assisted military personnel affected by the 2016 war. The same issue persists today. After the 44-day war, numerous servicemen and their relatives await their turn for visits, but soon they will be offered alternatives at the Nubarashen or Avan psychiatric hospitals.

The director of the center has repeatedly explained the difference between a neurosis center and a psychiatric hospital to the relevant authorities. The answer has been consistent: there is no money; the funding is insufficient. The center will close when a buyer shows up.

According to a government project, the shares of “Neurosis Clinic” LLC have been put up for sale at 163 million 576 thousand drams. The building has been up for sale in the last three years and is getting more expensive each year. Earlier this year, it was also decided to halt the state order.

Georgia and Azerbaijan, the former Soviet countries, do not have a specialized neurosis center. During Soviet times, only two such clinics were built, one in Moscow and the other in Armenia, serving all the countries. Dutch partners have also assisted with renovations, completely furnishing the second floor, but after learning that the building is for sale, they halted the equipment of the first floor and left, feeling deceived.
