Criticism from Ter-Petrosyan Painfully Received in 'My Step' Group, Reports 'Joghouvour'
According to well-informed sources from the 'Joghouvour' newspaper, the 'My Step' faction in the National Assembly has been intensely discussing the attitude of Armenia's first president, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, towards his once-favored team for quite some time. The matter is that there are many members in the faction who, so to speak, are 'Czarists' and are greatly pained that Ter-Petrosyan has been sharply criticizing their government and especially Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his articles for a considerable period of time.
They particularly took to heart Ter-Petrosyan's statement made the previous day regarding the reality of Pashinyan remaining in power. In the statement, the first president noted: 'The same unconstitutional elections of December 9, 2018, held in the conditions of an unstoppable popular enthusiasm, being the only means to resolve the created situation, cannot legally serve as a precedent for justifying the agenda of the upcoming elections.'
From well-informed sources, we learned that a segment of the members of 'My Step', who have always been on the first president's side, have started to express themselves very poorly about him in internal discussions. This includes Ruben Rubinyan, Arusyak Julhakyans, Arayik Harutyunyan, Arsen Torosyan, Lilit Makunts, Hakob Simidian, and others, who believe that Ter-Petrosyan is behaving incorrectly. Another segment also thinks that this cold war was instigated by Nikol Pashinyan, since he almost always begins closed meetings with a critique of Ter-Petrosyan, calling his team 'Levon's ragtag bunch.' According to them, this is Ter-Petrosyan's slap to Pashinyan.
