Measures to Increase Readiness in the Armed Forces of Armenia
On April 27, command posts were held at one of the military units under the 1st Army Corps to develop theoretical knowledge and practical skills of unit commanders. Within the framework of the exercises, actions were carried out for the identification of a conditional enemy, as well as the preparation and conduct of defensive combat operations.
According to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, on April 27, a gathering-meeting of legal officers from subordinate units took place in the 2nd Army Corps, where various issues related to legal assurance were discussed and clarifications were provided to improve the effectiveness of legal work.
To verify theoretical knowledge and professional skills, and to strengthen the level of methodological training, inspections were conducted on April 27 in the military units of the 5th Army Corps under the leadership of the head of the Radiation, Chemical, and Biological Protection Service of the corps. The proper operation and maintenance of RCB protection property and means in the military units were also verified.
On the same day, upon the initiative of the Human Rights and Ethics Center of the Ministry of Defense, a training course on the 'Right to Life' was held for the listeners of the Qualification Improvement Center of the V. Sargsyan Military University of the Ministry of Defense. The aim of the course, organized within the framework of the action plan for 2020-2022 stemming from the national strategy for the protection of human rights, was to increase the awareness of the command staff of the RA Armed Forces regarding the right to life and the prohibition of torture. The course was conducted by Liparit Drmayan, the Deputy Representative of the Republic of Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights and Head of the ECHR Office in Yerevan.
