Discussions on Opportunities for Capital Market Development in Armenia
Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan has held a virtual meeting with Georgina Baker, the Regional Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This was reported by the Government’s press service.
Mher Grigoryan highly appreciated the cooperation with the IFC, especially during the challenging times of the pandemic and post-war recovery.
The two discussed the vaccination process against COVID-19 in Armenia. In this context, the Acting Deputy Prime Minister outlined the government's adopted policies and the steps already taken in this direction.
During the meeting, opportunities for capital market development in Armenia and the role of the IFC in this process were discussed. Attention was also drawn to the involvement of the IFC in financing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and the importance of IFC's advisory services in assessing investment potential across various sectors.
Mher Grigoryan and Georgina Baker explored prospects for developing cooperation in the fields of energy, digitalization, and high technologies. The necessity for the development of women's entrepreneurship in Armenia was also emphasized, with thoughts exchanged on efforts being made in this regard.
