Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces Andranik Makaryan Accused of 60-Soldier Unit Disappearance

The newspaper "Zhoghavor" reports: In the military investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee, charges have been brought against Andranik Makaryan, the head of the Armed Forces Preparatory Department and Deputy Chief of Staff of the RA Armed Forces. According to our sources, he is accused of the disappearance of a 60-soldier unit.

As reported by "Zhoghavor," Andranik Makaryan was summoned to the RA Investigative Committee, questioned, and stated that an error had occurred, that the escort got confused, was negligent, and also mentioned that he had not given the order unilaterally. This means that there was a superior order involved.

However, this is not the end of the story. In connection with this and other criminal cases, the military investigative committee has also interrogated former Minister of Defense of Artsakh Jalal Harutyunyan and former head of the RA Armed Forces General Staff Movses Hakobyan, who presented different perspectives.

There are additional details known to "Zhoghavor" regarding the aforementioned criminal case, but we are not publishing them at this stage to avoid harming the preliminary investigation.

For more details, refer to today's issue of the newspaper.
