Baku's New Historical Fabrication: The Concept of 'Zangezur Corridor' Never Existed, Ahmad Kazemi
The declaration by the President of Azerbaijan regarding the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' has become an active topic of discussion in Iranian media these days. International law expert Ahmad Kazemi emphasized in an interview with the Fars news agency that the concept of the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' has never existed in history, and it is a new historical fabrication by Baku that has no legal basis.
Kazemi pointed out that Aliyev’s statements demonstrate that Baku's goal is not to open communication routes, determine the legal status of Nagorno-Karabakh, or normalize relations with Yerevan. He added that Azerbaijan is attempting to neutralize Iran's geopolitical positions in the region through the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor' and isolate it from regional energy projects, as well as to restrain China and Russia and undermine the 'One Belt, One Road' initiative.
In another article published on the Iranian news agency Mehr's website, it was emphasized that Azerbaijan's territorial claims against Armenia contradict Iran's interests, and Tehran should officially condemn such statements.
