Arab Countries Will Also Recognize Genocide, Says Archbishop of Egyptian Catholic Church
The Armenian Catholic community hopes that Arab countries will follow the example of the United States and recognize the fact of the Armenian Genocide. This opinion was expressed by Archbishop Krikor Augustine of the Armenian Catholic Church in Egypt during a conversation with RIA Novosti.
It is noteworthy that on April 24, the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, U.S. President Joe Biden classified the mass killings carried out by the Ottoman Turks as a "genocide." This statement was immediately followed by a reaction from the Turkish Foreign Ministry. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu labeled Biden's declaration as populist, emphasizing that Turkey rejects it.
