«Sometimes the water is so much that it covers the entire sidewalk»: Water spills from the observation well in the Silikian neighborhood

For nearly nine years, sewage water has been spilling from an observation well onto the streets between the fifth and sixth streets of the Silikian neighborhood in Yerevan.

According to a local woman, her husband had tried to resolve this issue in the past, but he died in the 44-day war.

"This happens a few times a month. ‘Veolia Water’ cleans it up but just leaves the waste here and departs," said resident Gayane Gevorgyan in an interview with NEWS.am.

In her opinion, the problem lies with the pipes, which are too small to contain the water. “Sometimes the water is so much that it spills into the store, covers the entire sidewalk, and people cannot walk. The smell is particularly terrible during hot weather,” she added.

The resident also mentioned that they have contacted both the neighborhood administration and the municipal authorities but to no avail.
