Mayor of Meghri Charged

The Mayor of Meghri, Mkhitar Zakaryan, has been charged. This was reported to the media by lawyer Gayane Papoyan. Zakaryan has been charged under Article 258, Part 3, Points 1, 2, and 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (hooliganism).

According to the lawyer, the charges brought against Zakaryan remain unclear for both the defense and the mayor. Therefore, they had requested clarification regarding the charges, but the petition was deemed an abuse of rights, and no explanation was provided.
